UPS Freight today announced a general rate increase of 5.9 percent for non-contractual shipments in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The increase will take effect on June 10 and will apply to minimum charge, less-than-truckload and truckload rates, and accessorial charges.
The truckload and LTL carrier said the new rates would be available for customers to download on June 10.
UPS, including UPS Ground as well as UPS Freight, was the No. 1 company in the JOC/SJ Consulting ranking of the Top 50 Trucking Companies for 2012; UPS Freight was No. 4 in separate rankings of the Top 25 LTL Carriers, with 2012 revenue of $2.378 billion.
