Con-way Freight will build a new, 96-door freight service center in Fond du Lac, Wis.
The $8 million, 47,000 square foot facility will serve as the local hub from which the less-than-truckload trucking company will provide daily local freight pickup and delivery services connecting the greater Fond du Lac metropolitan area with one-, two- and three-day service points in Con-way Freight’s nationwide network, as well as Mexico and Canada.
Con-way Freight, No. 2 on JOC’s list of the Top 25 Less-Than-Truckload Carriers, has selected a 21-acre property in Fond du Lac’s Fox Ridge Business Park for the new facility and is working with Setzer Properties as the developer. It is located in proximity to state highways 41, 175 and 151, as well as shippers in nearby business and industrial parks.
The expansion will replace an existing 25-door service center in the city where the company has been for 27 years, consolidating its Wisconsin operations in Fond du Lac, Sheboygan and Neenah into a single facility.
Con-Way Freight expects to close on the property in June and, following a groundbreaking ceremony, will begin construction for completion in March 2014.
