A. Duie Pyle has acquired a 60-door service center in Elkridge, Md.
The facility, located off of I-95, will go through an “extensive” renovation, with a target opening in early 2014, according to the U.S. Northeast asset-based supply chain solutions provider.
Pyle, No. 20 on the JOC’s list of the Top 24 Less-Than-Truckload Carriers, will provide current employees with the opportunity to relocate to the new facility, and any additional staffing requirements will be filled with new hires.
“The decision to acquire the Elkridge service center was based on a need for expansion, company growth and increased customer demand, at a site that would help us get much closer to our customers in the Baltimore market,” said Steve O’Kane, A. Duie Pyle’s president, in a written statement. “It now gives us the opportunity to extend our supply chain solutions further into Northern Virginia.”
