The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) has received the Bahri Hofuf, a new general cargo vessel of 26,000 deadweight tons, in South Korea.
It is the second vessel delivered in a series of six ordered from Hyundai MIPO Dockyard in South Korea. The vessels cost about $70 million each and are equipped with loading bridges with a capacity of 250 tons, as well as heavy-lift cranes with a capacity of 240 tons.
The four remaining vessels under construction at Hyundai MIPO are expected to be delivered during the remainder of 2013 and the first half of 2014. The financial impact of the delivery of Bahri Hofuf will materialize during the second quarter of 2013, the shipping company said in a written statement.
