Roadrunner Transportation Systems Tuesday announced two acquisitions.
The Cudahy, Wis.-based firm has purchased the outstanding stock of Adrian Carriers, a logistics service provider offering container management and intermodal solutions based in Milan, Ill., for approximately $14.2 million, plus an earn-out capped at $6.5 million.
It has also bought the outstanding stock and Charleston, S.C., property of Wando Trucking, which provides intermodal transportation and related services in the southeastern United States, for about $9 million.
Roadrunner, which came in at No. 22 in JOC’s Top 50 Trucking Carriers rankings for 2012 and led the pack in terms of growth thanks to acquisitions, said both deals were financed with borrowing under its credit facility.
