Valley Cartage has promoted Jim Mortensen as vice president of supply chain logistics and Bruce Anderson as vice president of operations, in conjunction with the opening of its supply chain service center in Lake Elmo, Minn., in May.
Mortensen will lead the transportation and logistics company’s efforts to create end-to-end freight logistics solutions for global customers. He will report to Todd Gilbert, Valley Cartage’s president and CEO.
Before joining Valley Cartage in 2010, Mortensen spent 28 years at Freightmasters in roles of increasing responsibility. In his last role at Freightmasters, Mortensen was director of operations, where he was responsible for all daily customer freight logistics.
Anderson will lead all of Valley Cartage’s asset-based and terminal operations, including the company’s main terminal in Hudson, Wis. He will also report to Gilbert.
Anderson joined Valley Cartage in 2010. Before that, he spent 13 years in roles of increasing responsibility with Wiseway Transportation Services. He vice president of operations for more than 10 of those years. Prior to Wiseway, he spent 20 years at County Seat Stores as transportation and freight coordinator for more than 800 retail stores and as assistant traffic manager of their private fleet.
