Hanjin Shipping, STX Pan Ocean and KMTC Line have expanded their joint intra-Asia container service by adding a direct call at the Port of Pipavav, India.
The three carriers operate the Far East-India Express (FIX) service with six vessels of 4,300 20-foot-equivalent units capacity.
An STX Pan Ocean vessel, the STX Patraikos, initiated the upgraded service, arriving at APM Terminals Pipavav on April 5.
The new FIX port rotation is Kwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Singapore, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Pipavav, Karachi, Port Kelang, Singapore and back to Kwangyang.
APM Terminals said the Pipavav call offers shippers in the northwestern hinterland region “an additional choice to access the Asian markets and a direct sailing to Karachi (Pakistan).”
