LCL Logistix has launched a new less-than-containerload groupage service from India to the Baltics and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The service operates from LCL Logistix’s container freight station in India’s Nhava Sheva container port, using weekly sailings to Klaipeda, Lithuania’s Baltic port. On arrival, containers are transferred to the capital, Vilnius, where they are broken down and shipments then transferred to each destination country. Sailing times are 31 days port-to-port, and road transfers to further inland destinations take a further seven days.
Countries served are Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Inland transportation is handled by LCL Logistix’s partner, UAB Transtira.
LCL Logistix, the Indian member of the Famous Pacific Shipping Group network of independent forwarders and non-vessel operating common carriers, expects the new service to attract interest from the pharmaceuticals sector in particular.
