Hamburg Sud has announced rate increases for three trade lanes that will take effect on or after April 1, on the basis of bill of lading dates, including:
- Southbound trade for export shipments from Hong Kong, South Korea, China and Taiwan (Northeast Asia) to the west coast of Australia (southbound trade for export shipments).
- Trade from Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to South Africa.
- Trade from Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to India.
All three rate hikes will be $300 per 20-foot container and $600 per 40-foot or high-cube container.
Additionally, the carrier will boost rates on all cargo moving from Northeast Asia to Australia’s east coast, starting April 15. The increase will be $300 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
