Zim Integrated Shipping Services said it will add a weekly call at the Port of Cochin, India, in March to its independent Asia-Med-Europe Service, known as the AME service.
The call brings the number of mainline services at Cochin’s new private container facility, Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment Terminal, operated by DP World, to three. VICTT began operations in February 2011.
Zim India in a trade notice said the first vessel to call Cochin will be the Zim China, voyage 56, arriving on March 26.
The Israeli carrier deploys 15 vessels with capacities of around 3,800 20-foot-equivalent units in the fixed-day weekly service.
The revised AME port rotation will be Xiamen, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, Cochin, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Mundra, Alexandria, Ashdod, Haifa, Mersin, Haifa, Port Kelang and back to Xiamen.
