Switzerland-based logistics company Kuehne + Nagel has signed a contract with AGCO, a Duluth, Ga.-based agricultural equipment manufacturer, to manage its aftermarket parts distribution center in Johannesburg, South Africa.
From the facility, which opened in December 2012, parts are distributed within South Africa, as well as to several neighboring countries. It has a storage capacity of 40,000 parts and is located near the O.R. Tambo International Airport.
Kuehne + Nagel is providing receiving, inventory control, picking and packing, handling of dangerous goods, prepackaging and returns handling for AGCO’s spare parts. The company will also provide sea freight and air freight inbound services of parts originating from Turkey, France, Brazil and India.
