U.S. containerized exports of fabrics, including raw cotton, declined sequentially in the second quarter, falling 18.2 percent from the first quarter.
Export volume totaled 92,067 20-foot-equivalent units, according to data from PIERS, a JOC sister company. Second quarter volume rose 2.4 percent year-over-year.
China was the top destination for U.S. fabric exports, with a 50.5 percent share of the total volume.
Turkey, with 7.8 percent; Honduras, with 4 percent; and Vietnam, 3.3 percent, made up the remainder of the top four overseas markets for U.S. fabrics.
