The World Container Index’s Oct. 11 comprehensive reading was down 0.8 percent or $16.06 from the week before to $2,078 per laden 40-foot container, its third consecutive week of decline, the World Container Index reported.
WCI’s spot price in the trade from Rotterdam to New York increased $214 or 8.8 percent from the week before to $2,642 per 40-foot container.
The WCI spot rate from New York to Rotterdam slipped $2 or 0.1percent from the previous week to $1,952 per FEU.
The Rotterdam to Shanghai WCI spot price was down $4 or 0.4 percent from the previous week, to $1,019 per FEU.
The WCI spot price from Los Angeles to Shanghai, at $849 per laden FEU, was flat for the second straight week.
