Lufthansa Cargo has launched a new freighter service between Israel and its German hub.
The carrier’s all-freight service will connect its Frankfurt hub to Tel Aviv, Israel’s second largest city.
Lufthansa said pharmaceutical products were a key driver of Israel’s export industry, with much of the cargo transported onward to the U.S. Israel’s major imports from Germany include engineering products, machinery and automotive components.
“With this new service, Lufthansa Cargo is significantly expanding its presence in the Israeli market,” said the company.
The MD-11 freighter service from Frankfurt will depart in the evening each Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday and in the late morning on Friday. The return flight will be operated on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday via Istanbul with a non-stop service available each Friday.
