The World Container Index comprehensive reading for Sept. 21 was down 3 percent or $66.03 from the week before, to $2,137.54 per laden 40-foot container, the World Container Index reported.
WCI spot prices in the trade from Rotterdam to New York fell $132 or 5 percent from the week before to $2,527 per laden 40-foot container.
The WCI spot rates from New York to Rotterdam declined $72 or 3.4 percent from the previous week to $2,030 per laden 40-foot container.
The Shanghai to Rotterdam WCI spot prices also fell, down $133 or 5.6 percent from the previous week, to $2,263 per laden 40-foot container.
In contrast, the WCI spot prices from Los Angeles to Shanghai have remained unchanged — at $846 — for the fourth consecutive week.
