Ryder Europe said it has completed the acquisition of Euroway, a U.K.-based truck rental and fleet management company.
The European unit of Miami-based Ryder System Inc. didn’t say how much it paid for privately held Euroway, which has a fleet of 1,419 vehicles ranging from 44 metric tons tractor units to 3.5 tons vehicles and trailers.
The Euroway fleet will transfer to Ryder Europe, which operates more than 25,300 trucks and trailers from 29 locations across the U.K.
“The acquisition of Euroway fits perfectly with our ongoing investment and growth strategy,” said David Hunt, vice president and managing director of Ryder Europe. “Euroway is widely respected, well-run and has grown substantially over the past 18 years through organic growth and acquisition.”
Euroways’s customer portfolio includes major retailers, wholesalers, food distribution companies, manufacturers, third-party logistics providers and fuel distributors across the U.K. and Ireland.
Euroway’s managing director Justin Lochhead will be joining Ryder.
