The $10.7 billion U.S. semiconductor trade with mainland China in 2011 rose 3.3 percent year-over-year, increased 23.6 percent from pre-recession 2008 and spiked 359.9 percent growth since 2002. U.S. semiconductor trade with mainland China was export-driven until last year when exports tumbled 28.4 percent year-over-year and imports surged 55.5 percent to garner 56.8 percent of the 2011 trade.
