Saudia Cargo has signed an exclusive deal to provide express freight services to the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia for three years.
The firm will use its 12-strong fleet of freighters and bellyhold capacity on Saudi Arabian Airlines’ 140 passenger planes to meet NSCSA’s rapid freight requirements in support of contracts won across its portfolio of services and fleet of tankers and general cargo ships.
“This collaboration will play an important role in helping to strengthen both companies in the area of air and sea freight,” said the companies in a joint statement.
One area of co-operation will be the exclusive Saudi Riyal230 million ($61.3 million) freight deal NSCSA signed with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense last year, which covers all the department’s transport and shipping needs for three years.
Saudia Cargo CEO Fahad Hammad said the two companies would work together to develop trade between the kingdom and other countries by developing different types of transport services.
