Kuehne + Nagel will acquire J. van de Put Fresh Cargo Handling of Amsterdam, a Dutch handling agent for perishable goods.
J. van de Put, a family owned business, has specialized in handling perishable air freight shipments such as flowers, plant cuttings, fruits and vegetables since it was founded in 1976.
K+N said the acquisition will enable the forwarding and logistics operator to expand its global perishable logistics capability.
The Dutch company, based at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, facilitates logistics and customs processes for import and export shipments.
J. van de Put provides a range of services such as vacuum cooling, temperature-controlled storage, customs clearing and inspections as well as delivery and distribution across Europe.
K+N did not disclose the cost of the acquisition, which is subject to approval of relevant European competition authorities.
