The Global Cold Chain Alliance has signed a service partnership agreement with Cascade Energy.
Energy usage is among the highest costs a refrigerated warehouse facility can incur annually, averaging 12 percent of total operating expense. It is also the top unmanaged cost in the refrigerated warehouse industry, according to the alliance.
Under the partnership, Cascade’s team of experts will be available to answer members’ questions about energy use, write reports and articles, contribute to educational programming, speak at group events, and provide a new technical manual on refrigeration best practices. Cascade also can assist in developing and managing corporate energy management programs geared specifically to refrigerated warehouses.
Since 1993, Cascade has provided energy efficiency consulting services to the cold chain industry. The new program is geared toward the needs of refrigerated warehousing and logistics companies that are GCCA members.
