Econocaribe Consolidators, a Miami-based non-vessel-owning common carrier, is joining INTTRA, the e-commerce platform established by 30 shipping lines for cargo booking.
Econocaribe, which has expanded its services worldwide from its business base in the Caribbean and South America, will use the INTTRA network to standardize electronic bookings by its customers for weekly shipments of full and less-than-full container loads on shipping lines to 125 export locations around the world.
INTTRA extended its service offerings to NVOCCs last year when it began testing its bookings services with Antwerp-based ECU. It has also been expanding its services to all global shipping routes.
More than 400,000 container orders are initiated on the INTTRA platform each week, representing more than 12 percent of global ocean container trade.
