England Logistics acquired TMS Technologies of Alma, Mich., giving the subsidiary of trucking giant C.R. England access to new logistics technologies and tools.
The acquisition brings England a Web-based transportation management and supply chain visibility system and a parcel auditing solution, the company said.
The purchase of TMS is the latest in a surge of acquisitions in the transportation and logistics field that herald a stronger economy. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In buying TMS, the logistics operator also acquires a proprietary technology framework that it says will help it build its next generation of programs and tools.
TMS will help England customers "monitor, visualize, and manage their logistics spend," said Jim Monkmeyer, managing director of supply chain engineering.
