J.B. Hunt Transport Services is using the Facebook social media network to communicate with truck drivers struggling with the latest winter storms.
The nation's largest truckload carrier is posting information and receiving messages from its drivers on a Facebook page the company uses as a recruitment tool.
The page has more than 1,500 fans or followers on Facebook.
Dozens of drivers posted information on weather in their area, from Chicago to Alabama and Virginia to Colorado. Chicago was among the worst hit locations.
One driver pulled up at a partner carrier's terminal in Chicago only to find it had already closed. He posted a photo of snow-covered trucks to Facebook.
"Bottom line: No load is worth your life!" the company said via Twitter Wednesday. Its messages or "tweets" may be followed at @JBHuntDrivers.
