Chairmen of the Federal Maritime Commission on Feb. 2 will take part in a roundtable to discuss the agency's past, present and future.
The event is part of the commission's 50th anniversary activities. The agency said the meeting will give the chairs an opportunity to discuss events during their tenure, and look at the commission's role today and in the future.
Eight former chairmen will attend the roundtable: Helen D. Bentley, Steven R. Blust, Joseph E. Brennan, Elaine L. Chao, Harold J. Creel, Jr., Richard J. Daschbach, William D. Hathaway, and Christopher L. Koch.
In addition to the roundtable, the commission announced that it published online annual reports of the FMC and its predecessors from 1917 to 1999.
The roundtable will be held in the commission's meeting room at 800 N. Capitol St. in Washington from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
