Maersk Line appointed Bjarne Foldager as its new country manager for Malaysia and Singapore.
Foldager will be responsible for the development and execution of strategy, overseeing sales, operations and customer service. He will take up the position as of Jan. 15. He will be based in Kuala Lumpur.
Foldager first joined the A. P. Moller-Maersk Group in 1991 and held various positions in different business units over more than 19 years.

Before assuming this role, Foldager was the managing director for A. P. Moller Singapore. He was also the global head for Maersk crew management headquartered in Singapore and responsible for providing personnel for the fleet owned by Maersk Line, Maersk Tankers and Maersk Supply Service.
Before coming to Singapore, Foldager headed fleet management in Copenhagen with overall responsibility for Maersk Line's entire fleet of owned and chartered container vessels.
Foldager replaces Omar Shamsie, who will move to Dubai to take on the position of regional head of Maersk Line in West and Central Asia.
