Qantas Freight launched courier and baggage delivery services under the new brand name Qantas Courier.
The company established the subsidiary to reposition Australian and New Zealand operations following the sale of its investment in DPEX Worldwide, said Stephen Cleary, executive manager of Qantas Freight.
By The Numbers: Asia-Pacific Airlines' Freight Traffic.
Qantas Courier will use the network of the Qantas Group and third party suppliers, including Australian air Express and Star Track Express, to offer courier and baggage services.
Qantas will remain the biggest customer of the business, which expects cost savings through aggregation of the Group's logistics and supply chain requirements under a single entity, said Cleary.
Qantas Courier's offices and retail counters are near international airports in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland in Australia. The business also has a retail presence at Sydney and Brisbane international airports through its Unaccompanied Baggage counters.
