Freight broker Greatwide Logistics Services named Tyler Ellison, a veteran of two of the country’s largest trucking operators, to the new post of group president for transportation management and corporate sales.
The appointment will pull together Greatwide’s brokerage and sales under Ellison, part of an effort to expand the Dallas-based company’s business.
By The Numbers: U.S. IMC Highway Yield.
Ellison’s “expertise in managed transportation services will … help to accelerate our focus on growth of combined supply chain solutions that fit with our unique strengths,” said Leo Suggs, Greatwide’s chairman and CEO.
Ellison had been president for the past two years of Con-way Multimodal, the brokerage unit of Con-way Freight. Before that, he was a senior executive at Schneider National and the truckload carrier’s Schneider Logistics unit.
The hire is the highest-profile appointment Suggs, a former chief of Overnite Transportation, has made since becoming Greatwide’s chairman last year.
