Ports America appointed Claus Michael Svendsen to the position of Chief Process Officer.
Svendsen, who will join Ports America on May 1, will be head of the program office, which is responsible for defining, structuring, and further optimizing the terminal operator’s business processes. He will report directly to President and CEO Michael Hassing.
Svendsen has more than 10 years of experience in the maritime industry. He has held various functional, operational, organizational restructuring and commercial leadership roles in Europe and Asia within Scandlines and A.P. Moller-Maersk, most recently as the chief process officer of Scandlines, one of Europe’s largest ferry groups.
As group senior vice president of Scandlines, Svendsen was responsible for turning the company’s results around through change management projects and restructuring of the organization and processes.
Hassing said Svendsen’s appointment will further strengthen Ports America’s position in the marketplace through improved process performance, efficiency and enhanced focus on customer experience and business growth.
