GT Nexus appointed Léo Apotheker to its board of directors.
The former CEO of SAP played a leading role in making that company the largest business software applications company in the world. Apotheker was a member of the executive board at SAP from 2002 to February 2010 and currently serves on the board of directors at Schneider Electric.
"The next wave in business software is going to be network platforms like GT Nexus," said Apotheker. "These newer cloud-based systems were designed to go beyond the bounds of a single enterprise and connect entire trading communities -- which is what ultimately enables highly agile business networks. GT Nexus is at the forefront of this revolution, a leader with a proven track record, and they're focused on one of the biggest opportunities around: global trade and logistics."
GT Nexus runs the world's only industry-backed, on-demand global trade and logistics control platform. It provides the Web-based software to automate processes across the global supply chain. Its technology enables community collaboration on a global scale.
"We are very excited and pleased to have Léo with us," said Aaron Sasson, chairman and CEO of GT Nexus. "His industry experience and knowledge will be huge assets for us as we expand and continue building traction as the mission-critical infrastructure that companies rely on for global trade."
