Freight forwarder Echo Global Logistics will open an office in Dallas, Texas, on April 5.
The office is the company’s first in the Southern region as it focuses on developing its sales organization in key metropolitan areas throughout the country. The Dallas office will perform sales functions similar to the Chicago headquarters and other regional offices in Detroit, Mich., and Atlanta, Ga.
"We are thrilled to expand Echo's services into the South," said Douglas Waggoner, chief executive officer. "Dallas is a major transportation hub for the Southern region of the U.S. and holds a great amount of growth potential for our company. We look forward to developing new relationships in this region as we continue to build out our domestic footprint."
Mike Bryan, who has been with Echo since October 2008, will serve as regional branch manager in the Dallas office with a staff of 10 to 12 newly hired sales representatives. Within a year, Echo plans to have 30 to 40 employees there.
