Following last week's announcement of a tie-up between DHL and American Airlines for cargo security, AA's North Atlantic partner British Airways World Cargo said it will join the group.
The goal is to create a common understanding of standard operating procedures for high-value and high-risk air cargo and exchange security best practices and information on crime trends.
"We are very pleased to welcome British Airways World Cargo in our security partnership program,” said Michael Schaecher, executive vice-president and head of global airfreight for DHL Global Forwarding. “Both parties can now combine their expertise to contribute jointly making the supply chain more secure. The close cooperation with our main partners in the airline sector is an essential part of our strategic direction to our customers with the best-in-class security approach."
