Lufthansa pilots will stage a fresh four-day strike in mid-April after their union and the German carrier failed to reach agreement over pay and job security.
The pilots' Cockpit union said the stoppage will start April 13 and will affect Lufthansa Cargo and the airline's low cost germanwings subsidiary.
The walkout is expected to have a minimal impact on Lufthansa Cargo, which was able to assure shippers it would maintain 90 percent of its freighter flights during a strike in February.
That stoppage was called off after one day when a German court urged the union and the airline to resume negotiations.
Lufthansa Cargo has 17 managers with pilot licenses who will fly its MD-11 freighters.
The carrier is also expected to book belly hold cargo space with rival carriers ahead of the strike.
