APL Logistics on Aug. 24 opened a distribution center within Dubai Logistics City’s international free trade zone.
The “flow center” links specialized multi-country consolidation, distribution and other value-added services with international transportation networks in a 25,000 square meter facility. APL has access to scalable capacity through its partnership with building owner RSA Logistics. The center can be expanded to 40,000 square meters.
The facility is adjacent to a number of light manufacturing sites and is close to Dubai’s air cargo terminal, Jebel Ali Port and road transportation links.
“Developing an advanced flow centre facility in the Dubai Logistics City - the world’s first fully integrated transport and logistics custom-bonded zone – demonstrates the strategic importance of this as a major gateway to the region. As one of the first providers to leverage the use of this location it deepens our footprint in the Middle East and complements our existing range of integrated logistics services for local and international customers,” said Komol Roongruangyot, managing director, APL Logistics Middle East.
