Hanjin Shipping on May 20 officially opened its terminal facility at Busan, South Korea.
Busan New Port Phase 2-1 Terminal has three berths with a depth of 18 meters that can accommodate 12,000 TEU class vessels and a land area of 687,590 meters. The terminal currently has 18 weekly services, including 14 run by CKYH (Coscon, "K"Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping). Hanjin New Port Company forecasts the terminal will handle 1.6 million TEUs by 2010 and 2 million TEUs by 2011
Cyberlogitec helped introduce the world's first automated horizontal yard crane system at the terminal, which made it possible to handle approximately 200 vessels with 200,000 TEUs of cargo for the last 3 months since the first voyage of Hanjin Los Angeles on February, 6.
