Members of the Grand Alliance are joining with Zim Integrated Shipping Services in two strings in the trans-Pacific trade, with immediate effect.
The scope includes North China and Japan, South China, South East Asia to Canada and U.S. North West Coast (NWX and PNX services).
The services will operate on a weekly basis with a round-trip voyage of 42 days (PNX) and 35 days (NWX). Zim will provide three vessels of more than 8,000 TEUs from July onward and the Grand Alliance will provide eight 8,000-TEU vessels.
The agreement is subject to Federal Maritime Commission approval.
The port rotation of the two services will be as follows:
NWX: Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Seattle, Vancouver, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe and Ningbo.
PNX: Singapore, Laem Chabang, Shekou, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Vancouver (Deltaport), Seattle, Busan, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shekou and Singapore.
The Grand Alliance members include Hapag-Lloyd, MISC Berhad, NYK Line and OOCL.
MISC Berhad has not participated on this trade and therefore is not included in this particular agreement.
