UPS Freight is speeding delivery times on 2,250 lanes in Texas and southern Oklahoma as part of a long-term strategy to expand next-day service.
The service upgrade includes direct service to more than 385 ZIP codes while improving transit times between Texas and Oklahoma and major U.S. markets.
Examples of the faster transit times include next-day service for Corpus Christi, Victoria and Kingsville to Houston and Dallas. It also covers shipments between Wichita Falls, San Angelo and Lawton, Okla., to Dallas, Houston and Austin.
In addition, the faster transit times will allow customers in Lawton, Abilene, San Angelo and Wichita Falls to reach Atlanta in two days and Charlotte, N.C., in three days.
UPS Freight has reduced transit time on 15,000 lanes over the last two years, the company said.
