All Nippon Airways Co.'s group revenue from its international cargo operations increased 9.8 percent during the April-December period from a year earlier to 59.2 billion yen ($660.7 million).
The second-largest Japanese air carrier said group international shipments totaled 285,000 tons for the first nine months of fiscal 2008 ending in March, up 14.5 percent from a year earlier. International volume totaled 1.323 billion ton-kilometers, up 8.6 percent.
Demand for cargo services in the Asia-Pacific region fell dramatically in the final of the three quarters, ANA said. However, an increased fleet and expanded freighter network helped it capture demand for cargo from Asia to Europe via Japan.
The carrier did not release profit figures for cargo.
