TW wins Gold in "Business to Business, Transportation/Travel Full Issue" category
Washington, D.C. (October 14, 2008) - Traffic World (http://www.trafficworld.com), a publication of Commonwealth Business Media (http://www.cbizmedia.com), has won Gold in the "Business to Business, Transportation/Travel Full Issue" category of Folio's 2008 Eddie Awards. The Eddie and Ozzie Awards, Folio's largest magazine competition, recognize excellence in magazine editorial and design. This year's competition drew over 2,800 entries that were reviewed by more than 100 judges.
Traffic World earned top honors for its April 14, 2008 issue. Titled "Fuel Tightens Its Grip," the issue focused on the rapid increase in energy costs and the impact that trend would have on the supply chain as well as the transportation methods used by manufacturers and retailers around the globe to move goods. The cover story provided the broad impact while other sections drilled down to the more specific implications for transportation and logistics strategies. This included what key supply chain providers, ranging from supply chain management companies to railroads and truckers, were doing to mitigate rising costs or pass them along.
"Spotting trends and informing our readers where industries are headed, and detailing how potential outcomes might impact their businesses and decisions, is central to Traffic World's mission," said Paul Page, Editor-in-Chief of Traffic World. "Energy costs have been the story-of-the-year for manufacturers, retailers and everyone else who depends on the movement of goods for their livelihood. Having our magazine's staff be recognized for its in-depth coverage of this critical issue is a great honor."
