Neptune Orient Lines on Monday said its average revenue per FEU in the four-week period from Sept. 22 to Oct. 19 increased by 9 percent over the same period a year ago, as container volumes gained 12 percent.
The Singapore-based parent of APL said revenue per FEU averaged $2,916 in the latest period, compared to $2,665 a year earlier.
Year-to-date, its average revenue per FEU was $2,713, a 2-percent improvement from a year ago, while liner volumes were up by 11 percent.
APL's ships carried 1.9 million FEUs in the year to date, compared to 1.7 million at this time a year ago.
The year-to-date average revenue per FEU was $2,713, compared to $2,652 in 2006.
