Short line railroad operator RailAmerica added three new vice presidents to its executive roster this week. David J. Rohal, Charles M. Patterson and Paul Lundberg join the company one month after it was acquired by Fortress Investment Group for $1.1 billion in April.
RailAmerica has 42 railroads operating about 7,800 miles of track in the United States and Canada. The new vice presidents will report directly to chief executive officer John E. Giles.
David J. Rohal worked for CSX for 18 years in corporate and operating positions. He also served as vice president of the rail link region at Genesee & Wyoming. Charles M. Patterson is a 20-year veteran of sales and marketing in the rail industry. He has worked for CSXT, Great Lakes Transportation, and Canadian National Railway. Paul Lundberg, with 20 years of labor relations and management experience, is a former GM at Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad and worked at Chicago & North Western Railway for more than 22 years.
"I am extremely enthusiastic to have these three exceptional leaders join our team," said Giles. "As we begin a new era of growth and expansion, we will supplement the existing team with a strong, ambitious group of leaders."
