Commonwealth Business Media said Wednesday that it has appointed Robyn Nissim as editor of The Florida Shipper magazine.
Nissim will play a key role in the company's plans to develop the content and regional focus of the weekly magazine, which serves as the leading resource for the Florida international transportation community. She will be based in the company's Miramar, Florida office and report to Peter Tirschwell, editorial director for The Journal of Commerce Shipper Group, which includes The Florida Shipper, as well as The Journal of Commerce, The Journal of Commerce Online, and Pacific Shipper, Shipping Digest and Gulf Shipper magazines.

An award-winning writer and editor, Robyn most recently served as senior vice president of communications for the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, where her responsibilities included writing and editing a monthly magazine and an annual membership directory; creating brochures and marketing materials; event promotion; media relations; radio scripts; advertising and sponsorships; speeches; guest columns; lobbying support, and Web site and community relations. In this position, she received a number of awards for writing and editing, including the Chamber's first-ever Award of Excellence from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives; first ever award from the Delaware Press Association and first-ever award from the National Federation of Press Women.
Nissim has also served as director of communications for the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce and as a freelance reporter in the Pittsburgh bureau of Reuters.
