Norfolk Southern Corp. formed a new unit, NorfolkSouthernMexicana S. de R.L. de C.V., to market its transportation and logistics services in Mexico.
Mexico director Tony LaRosa will be in charge of the new unit.
The company, based in Norfolk, Va., said it has experienced six consecutive years of volume and revenue growth in its Mexican traffic and wanted to raise its marketing profile in the country.
The unit intends to serve U.S. and Mexican customers involved in North American Free Trade Agreement transactions, and strengthen its partnerships with western rail carriers.
