GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Motorola has selected TNT as a preferred provider in Europe. Under a new contract, TNT will transport consignments between six production plants and resellers, dealers, wholesalers and consumers throughout Europe. The contract calls for TNT to handle more than 15,000 consignments per month for the U.S. telecommunications concern.
Using its road and air network within Europe, TNT will deliver a vast array of components and finished products such as mobile phones, modems and two-way radios. 'TNT is able to offer an integrated package together with preferential transit times that suit our requirements,' a spokesman for Motorola's European export management team said.
TNT said it will be Motorola's preferred provider for European air and road business from production plants in Tanunsstein and Flensburg in Germany, Easter Inch in Scotland, Dublin in Ireland, and Crawley and Basingstroke in England.
