UPS Worldwide Logistics, coming off a year in which it doubled its European sales, has opened a 78,580-square-foot warehouse and office in Roermond, Netherlands, bringing its facility at that location to 186,217 square feet.
UPS Worldwide Logistics now operates more than 315,385 square feet of space throughout Europe.The company says the new facility will give it greater flexibility in offering supply-chain management solutions including warehousing and inventory management, to multinational companies selling goods in Europe.
''Our success in the European market created the need for additional capabilities,'' said Bill Caplan, managing director of UPS Worldwide Logistics' European operations.
''We've found that the global companies we serve are looking for more cost-efficient solutions to their supply-chain needs,'' he said. He added the company expects the plant to be operating at full capacity by the end of the month.
