Lucio Matassoni, Pablo Marino and Milciades Contreras were appointed to positions in emerging-markets trading.
Mr. Matassoni was appointed to develop an Asian forfaiting book in London, which will concentrate primarily on China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and Turkey.
Mr. Marino, previously head Latin American equity trader with ABN AMRO, joins Bank of America in New York to spearhead the development of Latin American equity portfolio, which will invest in local shares and ADRs for the bank's own account.
Mr. Contreras was appointed to work on technical strategies with Mr. Marino.
ROBERT SCHMIEDER WAS NAMED VICE PRESIDENT TO FOCUS ON LATIN AMERICAN CORPORATE EUROBOND research.
Mr. Schmieder will concentrate on the construction, transportation, oil and gas, telecommunications and utilities sectors.
Before joining Santander, Mr. Schmieder was a corporate analyst at the Weston Group.
Rosalie Osias, a New York real estate attorney, will head Expandia's first branch in the United States.
Expandia is the largest investment company in the Czech Republic, with $400 million under management.
