ALEXANDER & ALEXANDER SERVICES INC. (New York) - Steve Snider was named managing vice president of the Tulsa, Okla., office.
He joined the company in 1988 through a merger with Siegfried Insurance Agency Inc. of Tulsa. He has since served as a unit manager and business development director. A graduate of Oklahoma University, Mr. Snider received his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1982.
ALEXANDER REINSURANCE INTERMEDIARIES INC. (Stamford, Conn.) - William R. Coleman was elected president, and Robert T. Mobyed was elected vice president.
Mr. Coleman, 49, who had served as chief operating officer and executive vice president, will remain chief operating officer. He joined Alexander Re in 1984, continuing a reinsurance career that began with other reinsurance companies and brokers.
Mr. Mobyed, 48, joined the company in 1987 after 15 years in treaty reinsurance underwriting, production and management roles.
JOHNSON & HIGGINS (New York) - Emmanuel J. Olympitis was appointed managing director. He was also appointed managing director of Johnson & Higgins Holding Ltd. and a director of Johnson & Higgins U.K. Ltd.
He will be responsible for daily management of United Kingdom operations. Mr. Olympitis joined the company after holding several positions at financial institutions in the United States and United Kingdom.
Mr. Olympitis is a graduate of University College, London University, with an honors degree in law.
MERCANTILE & GENERAL REINSURANCE CO. of AMERICA (Morristown, N.J.) - Thomas M. Sheehy was elected to the board of directors, replacing John Lock upon his retirement. Mr. Sheehy is currently senior vice president and treasurer.
Employed at Mercantile since 1977, Mr. Sheehy also holds the positions of director, senior vice president and treasurer for Toa-Re Insurance Co. of America, M&G Services Inc. and M&G U.S. Holdings Inc.
Jerome E. Tuttle was elected senior vice president. He is currently a senior vice president and actuary of M&G America and Toa-Re Insurance Co., in charge of actuarial pricing and reserving.
Active in the property and casualty actuary sector for 18 years, Mr. Tuttle worked at Crum & Forster of Basking Ridge, N.J., and Johnson & Higgins of New York before joining Mercantile.
