M&T Chemicals Inc. announced an increase in its prices for tributyltin oxide, effective Jan. 2, 1987.
Under the new schedule, the price for quantities of one to four drums will rise from $8.17 to $8.86 a pound.The price for orders of five or more will move from $7.96 to $8.60 a pound.
Each drum contains 485 pounds.
M&T attributes the new price schedule to increased operating costs.
M&T Chemicals Inc.'s products and processes are employed extensively by the agricultural, automotive, biochemical, ceramic, chemical, construction, electronics, glass, metal finishing and plastics industries worldwide.
Exports of Methanol
Declined in October
Exports of methanol amounted to 463,000 gallons in October 1986, down from 1.0 million gallons in October 1985, according to the Bureau of the Census.
In the month, imports totaled 30.7 million gallons, up from 24.8 million gallons.
Exports in the month were valued at 0.645 cents a gallon, up from 0.507 cents a gallon. In addition, imports were valued at 0.209 cents a gallon, down
from 0.310 a gallon in 1985.
For Tall Oil Fatty Acids
Overall production of tall oil fatty acids fell in November 1986 compared with the previous month, statistics from the Pulp Chemicals Association indicate.
Output of 2 percent-and-over rosin totaled 16.7 million pounds in November, a decrease of 5.9 percent from the previous month's total of 17.7 million pounds. Production of less-than-2 percent rosin dropped 43.7 percent
from the previous month's total of 21.8 million pounds to 12.3 million pounds in November.
Domestic disposition declined in the month, with 2 percent-and-over rosin decreasing 11.9 percent from October's level of 16.4 million pounds to 14.1 million pounds in November, and less-than-2 percent rosin fell 11.2 percent
from 17.3 million pounds in October to 15.3 million pounds one month later.
Exports in November declined also. Shipments of 2 percent-and-over rosin dropped 64.6 percent to 1.0 million pounds from October's total of 2.9 million pounds, and less-than-2 percent rosin also fell 39.4 percent from October's total of 3.4 million pounds to 2.0 million pounds.
Net disposition was down in the month. Two percent-and-over rosin declined 20 percent to 15.5 million pounds from October's figure of 19.4 million pounds. Less-than-2 percent rosin dropped 10.1 percent to 16.6 million pounds in November.
