Cargo export value, in billions of U.S. dollars
Heavy truck exports in the first eight months of 2011 exceeded pre-recession volume of the first eight months of 2008 by 20.9 percent; automobile exports were 9.9 percent less. In contrast, year-to-date heavy truck exports were up 14.5 percent and automobiles surged 24.9 percent sequentially. U.S. Census describes this data as reflecting the sustained growth, sharp decline, and subsequent rebound.
