The $14 billion U.S. footwear import business last year declined $1.45 billion or 9.4 percent from 2008. U.S. footwear imports from mainland China declined $664 million or 5.7 percent to $10.97 billion last year and captured a 78.3 percent 2009 market share.
Footwear was 0.9 percent of all 2009 U.S. imports in dollar value and 3.7 percent of mainland China's export trade with the U.S.
