Fish and shellfish trade between the U.S. and mainland China has tripled in value from 2002 to 2010 to nearly $3.2 billion with 75 percent of the trade in U.S. imports. Year-over-year imports were up 17.3 percent, while exports advanced 25.8 percent. Although 2010 U.S. imports were up 9.5 percent over pre-recession 2008, exports surged 34.3 percent.
